General Information and Class Policies
Choosing a class
The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore your child should be at least the minimum age by the start of the classes in which you are enrolling. If you have concerns about your child’s success in a particular age range, I am happy to discuss your child’s needs and to work with you to place him or her in the most appropriate class.
Free trial classes
I am happy to book a free taster session. Please call for availability.
Enrolling early
Although you may join classes at any time, places are limited. Late registration may mean a slight delay in receiving your home materials as they have to come from the US. If you enrol after the classes begin, the tuition aspect of the cost will be on a pro-rata basis.
Enrolment confirmation
A registration form and payment must be received before enrolment is confirmed. You will receive notification by phone or email within 2 weeks to confirm your registration.
Refunds
Tuition refunds may be given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from the course. All refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The cost of materials and classes already attended are non-refundable.
In the event of my illness or unavailability to teach, classes will be made up at a later date. If that is not possible, a refund will be given for the missed class.
Non-enrolled siblings
It's usually possible to accommodate younger siblings in toddler classes, but not usually possible to accommodate older siblings in baby classes.
Making the most of your Kindermusik classes
Plan to arrive about 5-10 minutes early for classes. This provides time for you and your child to settle into the musical environment before we start. Please leave toys, food and drink etc out of sight for the duration of the class. Many activities take place sitting on the floor and there will be some moving around so please dress comfortably. Please note, however, that no-one will be forced to sit on the floor (or do anything for that matter!) if that is uncomfortable.
The most important thing that you can do for your child during class is be an active and patient role model. Don’t be discouraged if your child appears not to be participating as you would wish. They will be absorbing information and this absorption may be evidenced at home first of all rather than in the class setting. You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially of you make use of your At Home materials. Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference to a child’s comfort and participation in the classroom.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to having you and your child join us for some great Kindermusik classes.
